Have you ever tried eating Biryani? It's a famous Indian dish made of spices, rice (usually Basmati rice) and meat or vegetables. It's quite yummy especially if spicy food suits your fancy. I do like it a lot, especially Chicken Biryani.
Last week, around 50 Dubai chefs from top hotels have put their culinary skills together to dish-out a record breaking 2.5 tonne biryani bowl - 240 bags of rice, 900 chickens, 4,450 onions, 9 kilos of chili, 845 fresh tomatoes are just a few of the ingredients used to make this biryani bowl. The dish was cooked at a stainless steel bowl made of 5mm sheet of stainless steel which weighed more than 700 kg. The biryani bowl was enough to feed 30,000 people, roughly equivalent to the entire population of Umm Al Quwain, a local town here in Dubai. Around 120 people helped in scooping out the biryani from the bowl to visitors. The event was held at Global Village as part of Dubai Shopping Festival's activity highlights.
Oh my, I'm sure the arms of those guys who had to do the stirring got so numbed for many days.
