Sound of Music Train Station Video
This video is really awesome, well worthy of your time to watch. I first saw this at Tangle.com and have heard that it has received almost two million hits already at YouTube since its upload in late March 2009. I'm not surprised why it quickly became so popular and has been spreading like wildfire across the internet... it is highly entertaining and it would leave you a feeling of delight after seeing it.
About 200 dancers took over Antwerp Station in Belgium, (Central station in Antwerpen) dancing to the famous Do Re Mi song from the Sound of Music musical and movie, also known as Maria’s Dance and Maria’s Song. This was supposedly a publicity stunt for a Belgian TV program by VTM called "In Search of Maria".

Winter All Year Round
When you think of Dubai, what is the first thing that comes to your mind?...oil ... skycrapers... gold... The Burj... how about this - hot and dry! Yup, winter is out and summer is rolling in, I can still clearly remember the day I first stepped foot on Dubai, it was October then (not even the peak of summer), I arrived around 1 o'clock in the morning, and as soon as I came out from the very cool airport, my sweat started to roll down from all over... it was super hot and it was 1am, quite unbelievable but didn't shock me at all, as my hubby has already told me what to expect.
During the summer months here, you'll dread going out. And so to give some consolation to the tourists and locals who would like to experience and enjoy winter all year round, some really "cool" places have been established to give that sheer winter joy - Ski Dubai and Chill Out Cafe.
I posted photos of these two chilly places at my photo blog - Mix Pix, click HERE to see that post.

Easter's Good News!
Each day we are confronted with life's challenges, we get bombarded with bad news all around, many people are tempted to just throw the towel in, give up and walk away...but DO NOT lose hope...there is GOOD NEWS!
Jesus paid the penalty for our sins when He took our place, sacrificed His life and died on the cross, so we can be forgiven of our iniquities. His death spelled life for us. The story did not end there though, because on the third day after His death, He rose again, sealing our redemption with His resurrection.
Because of this, we can enjoy and be assured of the joy, peace abundant life He promised to those who believe.
May the message of Easter remind us always of God's unfailing and never ending love for all of us. Happy Easter!

Good Friday: Above All
This song clearly expresses how special we are in the eyes of God and how Christ's death on the cross proved just that...

Sand of Promise
A new scientific breakthrough has been making headlines in the Gulf Region as this milestone could very well halt desertification and turn the arid deserts of the UAE into lush greenery.
Emirati Engineer Fahd Mohammad Saeed Hareb and his family's company - DIME Hydrophobic Materials, with joint efforts from German scientist Helmut F. Schulze have developed this waterproof sand, technically called hydrophobic sand - a nanotechnology wonder they have developed for seven years.
By simply laying down a 10-centimetre blanket of DIME Hydrophobic Materials sand beneath typical desert topsoils, the new super sand stops water below the roots level of the plants and maintains a water table, giving greenery a constant water supply.
By comparison, when regular desert sand lies beneath, water bleeds endlessly downward leaving roots dry until the next watering.
With new hydrophobic sand in place, traditional watering of desert plants five or six times a day can be reduced to one watering, saving 75 per cent more water, a precious resource that is dwindling across the Arab Peninsula. Al Ain’s UAE University is currently using the sand to see if rice can be successfully grown in desert conditions and the trials are still pending.
This is really great news for the UAE as this technology's success could bring more prosperity for the Gulf countries, it could serve as another solid fall back for Dubai besides the tourism they are trying to boost, as oil becomes more and more scarce in the passing of years.

SpitzTunes -- Concert Mania!
Do you go to concerts? Who's your favorite artist that you enjoy watching his/her live performance? Hubby and I do not regularly watch concerts, but one particular Filipino singer that we always love watching live is Gary V, he has a dynamism in his performances that really instigate mania and you couldn't help but get carried away.
Here's a short survey about concert mania, and if you're curious... find out what would be your own and other people's responses are to these questions:

I'm always on a hunt for new recipes to try. My criteria when experimenting with new dishes is that they must be easy to prepare, the ingredients called for are already in my food pantry or at the very least, easy to find and and readily available in groceries, and the total cost of the recipe should be budget-friendly.
